Application of the Month
I will be adding pictures
on here now and again just to demonstrate an application taken from a
basic technique
All martial arts
basic techniques can be interpreted a variety of different ways that work
extremely well in a close quarter confrontation.
 |
Teaching new
students technical basics allows the student to develop power, balance
and co-ordination but still with only a 'basic' understanding of what
the technique does. |
 |
Advanced
students must understand what each technique does and there are many
applications for each basic technique. |
 |
I have an open
mind to ALL styles and believe we can all learn from each other,
as a Korean stylist I recognise just how much the Chinese influenced all
martial arts and therefore we should look to the Chinese arts for a
better understanding of basics. I know there are like-minded people out
there (my instructor for one), people who are willing to share,
and I have listened to what is there and now understand the true
effectiveness of traditional hyung. |
Do I know
everything?.....NO, am I still learning?.....YES, and will
continue to learn for as long as I practice Tang Soo Do, I hope you feel
the same way.
******************************************************************************************
CAUTION:
These applications have serious consequences
and if you wish to learn these applications then I strongly suggest you
seek out a professional martial arts instructor.
 |
They are
NOT to be practiced without first
understanding that all martial arts techniques are dangerous and at the
very least can cause varying degrees of unconsciousness and at the very
worst can cause serious and even fatal injuries. |
 |
Please
DO NOT practice these applications without the
support of professional tuition and even then practice them in a
controlled manner so as to greatly reduce the risk of serious injury. |
